What do I need to know before making my first appointment?
First, please contact your insurance company to see which of our therapists is in your current plan. For a listing of therapists see the staff page on this site. Also, inquire about your benefits (co payments and any deductibles that may apply) directly with your insurance carrier. Specifically you will ask for your outpatient mental health benefits for counseling in the office.

Please have your insurance card available when making your appointment. If you are using an employee assistance program, please have the name and phone number, along with any authorization number available when making your appointment.

It is our policy to not make appointments through a third party if the client is an adult over the age of 18.

What if I want to make an appointment for someone other than myself?
You may make an appointment for a third party that meets the following criteria in relation to you:
A dependent child under 18
An adopted or foster child under 18
A person over whom you hold guardianship (disabled adult child, etc)

It is our policy to NOT make appointments with a third party if the appointment is for someone over the age of 18. You must have that person call to make an appointment.

What if I have an emergency?
If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, you should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

If you are a current client in an urgent situation (non life-threatening emergency), we have a therapist on-call 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. Simply call our main number, and have the receptionist or answering service page the person on-call.

If you are not a current client, please contact an urgent mental health care facility near you, or one recommended by your insurance company.

What services are covered by my insurance?

Because every policy is different, you should check with your insurance to be clear about covered/non-covered services. Call the customer service number on your insurance card for more information. A good bit of information could be received from the insurance company about your policy by asking the following questions:

What are my outpatient (office visit) mental health (counseling) benefits?
Does my plan have limits or exclusions for this service?
Does a deductible or copay apply to this service?
Is authorization required for this service?
Do I need a referral from my PCP?

What if I do not have insurance?

Our office can refer you to other providers that work on a sliding scale, for those without insurance.

Our full-pay rates are as follows:

Psychologist                        $250 for initial session, $200 thereafter

Master's Level Therapists       $150 for initial session, $140 thereafter
